Rowing machines are probably the second most popular piece of fitness equipment. Typically there are three different types of rowing machines; these are air rowers, water rowers and magnetic rowers.


What are the differences types of rowing machines?


There are fundamental differences with the three types of rowing machines, below is an explanation of each one


* Water Rowers - Water rowers are physically lighter than magnetic rowers and have a different resistance feel. The feel is often smoother than any other type of rower
* Air Rowers - Air rowers are also physically lighter than magnetic rowers but have the added benefit of cooling you down whilst you workout- these rowing machines are typical in most gymnasiums
* Magnetic Rowers - Magnetic rowers are much quieter and have quite a smooth feel to them

The average rowing machine ranges from a couple of hundred pounds to a couple of thousand, obviously the more money you spend on a rowing machine the better quality you can expect.
